Installation instructions were horrible and didn’t go in order. If I didn’t have common sense it could have been a disaster. The product itself is beautiful and seems to be sturdy for my oversized barn door.
Read the instructions watch the video add and add dimensions, over and over to not screw up sit back and really think it out our door was shorter so we cut the top molding (the trim )off then we put a backer board up after we stained it and make sure you find your studs . Great quality so smooth nice to look at ,so happy we are doing another one on Friday . Great price also .
I purchased three sets of this hardware kit. Honestly, I purchased this set for two reasons. First, it was the least expensive I could find, and second because it would fit the low profile I needed in this custom application. I was really surprised when I received them because all too often you get what you pay for . I expected them to be functional for my application but I also expected them to be cheap . Nothing could be further from the truth. ALL of this hardware is seriously heavy-duty and well made. All of the steel is 1/4 and powder coated. The rollers have real two cartridge bearing in them (each), they are quiet and I suspect will last way past my lifetime. I'm not much of a review writer, but this far exceeded my expectations....which was price. Premium product, great price, would buy again.
We installed a number of these sliding barn doors in our properties over the years. The earlier versions felt more solid because it was a single continuous 12' bar. This version splits the bar into two sections and while it is much easier to install it that way (you're holding a 6' length of bar vs. 12'), it does look aesthetically worse because you can see that the bar is two sections and it wasn't the easiest to make sure both sections were completely level so you don't visually see it bow or dip. Overall it's still a good product ... I just prefer the one continuous section better.
Product looks great and is very solid. Instructions were clear and assembly was easy. Only issue is the two piece rail takes a little time to get straight. I discovered there was a right and wrong way they connect, after that it went together well. I would recommend.
So happy with this purchase! The hardware looks great hanging out old repurposed door. My father and husband installed the door and hardware with no problems!
Renovating a 1940’s house and this barn door was the perfect idea for the weird layout in this house. Looks great. Still need to notch the bottom of the door to keep it from swaying but other than that so easy and looks good.
The track requires studs to be on 16 centers which should not be a problem for houses built correctly. The only things you may need to add besides the doors themselves is a handle or two.
